Auditions in Studio V

Getting some cool, interesting bookings for Studio V. Got an indie theatre company coming in the week after next to hold auditions from 7pm til 10:30. We’ll partition part of the room as a waiting area for nervous actors. They’ll step around the partition, walk past the casting table where the production crew sit & jump up on stage, under lights to audition. Then off, through the front curtain & out the front door. ‘Next!’ Looking forward to it – curious but need to also make myself scarce while it’s all going on.

Photog Setup 4-WR
Studio V, photo kit setup.

Thursday, a photographer’s coming in to shoot for 2 or 3 days. Monday & Cup Day, another photographer – she’s digging the old stairwell so the shoot might move into that area for a bit.

Fires out.

Studio V

First phase of the venue room went live last week. We’re calling it Studio V – hiring out short term for photo shoots, rehearsals, performance, exhibitions, meetings, work-shops, studio use, theatre set-building etc. Check the Studio V page for pics & more info.

Hawks Kill It – AFL Grand Final 2015

Beers Thursday night with Lachy next door & we decided to throw a last minute Grand Final day party at his bar. 24 hours to get organised. Posters designed & printed by Friday afternoon, up on the bar front windows by sunset. Borrowed a TV from Rick (neighbour across the street). TC rolled up with a long aerial cable & we hooked into one of our TV points over the fence. Facebook notification late night & people started rolling in midday Saturday.

GF Party 2015
Sandy gives thumbs up as Mat serenades post game.

The game was actually an anti-climactic fizzer . Hawthorn just too good and West Coast surprisingly overawed by the occasion right from the start. By quarter time it was pretty much all over, and just got worse from there, the mighty Hawks running away with their 3rd AFL Premiership in a row. And that’s a wrap for 2015’s epic season, Hawthorn cementing their place in history as one of the game’s all-time greats.

Now it’s time to get excited about cricket. I’ve never found that an easy task.

Fires out.
